كيف تجد الفرق بين PMP and prince2
Dear Mohammad I agree with answered Mr.Ahmed farag
PRINCE2 is a project management methodology - it is what a project manager should do. It is made up of processes, principles and themes that step you through the project from conception to close PMP is based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) - which is the knowledge of the project management profession. It is what a project manager should know. So PRINCE2 and PMP are complementary: PRINCE2, for example, is strong on the business case, process and governance while PMBOK covers area such procurement and HR which PRINCE2 does not. Complete PMs will benefit from both the knowledge (PMBOK) and practice (PRINCE2) of our profession. Both are global - PRINCE2 started in the UK and now has600,000 certified PMs. PMI started in the US and has nearly400,000 PMPs.
Dear Mohanned AL-Asmari,
Thanks for your question. Honestly i have no idea about PMP.
Yes, PRINCE2 provides the project manager with a methodology for all stages of project management, while PMP can be seen as guidelines to perform project management activities, and provides a best practice for47 process groups as per PMBOK5th edition.
PRINCE2 is an entry level certification i.e., anybody can take up this course who doesn't have any work experience and wants to build a career in Project Management whereas PMP (Project Management Professional) requires minimum3 years of work experience in assisting or managing a project with35 contact hours of formal education to be eligible.
Refer this: To know more about PRINCE2 and To know more about PMP.
I need to add other thing is there are aroud50,000 PRNCE2 certified ,while there are around500,000 PMP certified in the whole of the world. That makes PMP framework is more favorable
realy i do not know
PMP is not a methodology. It contains a truck load of processes and 'generally accepted' techniques of project management by which to evaluate or complete the way you run your projects or the methodology you use. It is therefore more theoretical, a reference guide.
Prince2 on the other hand is a methodology, with a detailed process model and templates. It gives a step by step guidance on how to organise and run a project. It is more practical than the PMP. It still needs to be tailored to your needs but it is more a manual than a reference guide. It focuses on just a limited set of techniques.
