Before you start motivating your self you have to recognize the goal that you are willing to work hard for.Working hard for a goal is the equivalent to what your willing to sacrifice to getting what you want. You also have to learn and adopt habits like like creating a some sort of a vision board where you stick your goals. Personally I add some i select some really good notes of really good quotes that appeal to me, that give me the will to get up and get stuff done, (in my own handwriting) and i stick them somewhere i can spot the minute i get out of bed in the morning.
I also talk myself into doing something that am supposed and anticipate about the rewards that am going to get after learning a particular habit or doing the things that are necessary so that in the future i could enjoy the fruit of my labor.
This might sound strange but I find that being around a particular kind of people influences you to imitate or change according to how they are. For instance, by being around people who are hard workers and people who motivate each other will subconsciously change your behavior and you will start working harder.

Well motivation requires number of factors to work harder, i will explain some points.
1. Appreciation is one of the biggest factor which keeps on motivating you when you achieve some target set by management and they gives you thumbs up for doing your best.
2. Cooperative environment is also one of the factor when peers tends to help you when somethings goes wrong and issues didn't goes to higher management. So this keeps you motivated next time to resolve any issues without fail.
3. Rewards, always check your performance with your management and put them in rewarding position. To give you extrinsic or Intrinsic rewards based on task and achievements which ultimately helps you work harder.
4. Approaching higher management for problems before someone else approaches which becomes complaint, this way you will be confident and motivated what you have done is your best.

The best motivation is always a clear GOAL and the plan how to achieve it! Of course the goal should be something what you realy want which means it should be YOUR OWN goal and not something what you HAVE TO DO because it is a part of your duty!
