What are the methods used to heal affecting differential settlement of one region of strip footing ?

There are so many methods to reduce this, some of them as below

1. Using Soil improvement techniques

2. Soil Reinforcement methods

3. by reducing underground water level, etc,.. 

if one region of strip footing is sitteled,,then we can not bring it back to its original position ,we have to remove that region ,as the remaining region of footing will be strong enough to take the load of the structure ,then we have to construct  the effected region again going to hard strata ,,or by making soil compaction or soil modification or providing piles :)
