Are unexpected variables included in project planning?

Project Planning is not my specialty but I believe that in any type of planning unexpected variables are a vital element of consideration and forecasting.  The models which are used to depict the variables may differ according to each planning department, however the conclusions based on their identity will be equally relevant.

Yes there is. Even best ones cannot hope to capture all the possible variables and future actions that could impact the plan
