Is it necessary to modify CV every time before applying a job?

As an experienced Chef ,like many others. I'm trying to make the best of both, my career choice as well as future in the industry. Every "job",has it's own requirements. I therefore feel that one should go through one's C.V before submitting, and ensure that the wording suites the position. I must stress that this does not mean one should "lie" about your work experience,but IF you have it, put the focus on that experience. Most of all. Believe in your own abilities.

Its is apparently not important but if you change the CV as per the requirement then there are more chances of getting the opportunity.

Every job has its own for skill & expartise. May be it is already available in the CV, however if it can be highlighted then there are more possibility to get interview calls.
