When the HAZOP study has to be updated or reviewed on which bases?

HAZOP should be reviewed in the prject life cycle including FEED, detailed design, Before Commissioning and start-up. For a process plant in operation mode, HAZOP should be reviewed before any changes in the process operation to ensure all existing process safegaurds are in place.

Usually Hazop is conducted at the FEED stage of the project and at the EPC stage as well. However, when designing any new facilities or modifying any existing facilities usually a small HAZOP session is required.

Normally HAZOP is Revalidated after a certain period defined at the time of HAZOP but before any Modififaction project HAZOP should be Revalidated.
