Why is it recommended to certify your company for ISO 9001 compliance before trying to certify it for any other ISO as in ISO 14001, ISO 18001, or ISO 22000?

ISO is one of the basic standard and thought to be the back-bone of many other standards as many other standards are developed having some guidance from this standard. Also because quality is the key foundation stone of any company.

Also as it relates to quality, therefore, if the quality of all the processes performed in the Organization would be in good shape, it would be easy for organization to go more specialized standards, when a culture of quality and receptiveness is created in the organization.

Lastly, it is one of the only standards, which can be easily adopted by entities involved in any type of business or of any size e.g. from a small Tailor or Grocery Shop to Large O&G or High Tech Aero Space Organizations.

Because ISO series is the base and other Standards added speciality Procedures to address their respective scope.. Like ISO1 and OHSAS1..
