Using innovative practices, flipping the classroom and instead of purely chalking and talking and emphasis on discussions, simulations and group activity can improve experience of students.
Sharing of knowledge raises the interest level of both teacher and student.
Good teaching is as much about passion as it is about reason .... It's about caring for your craft, having a passion for it, and conveying that passion to everyone, most importantly to your students.
- Professor Richard Leblanc
Award-winning teacher,
York University, Ontario
Good teachers, along with working very hard, almost always have fun. Have you ever noticed how much they smile while they're teaching? There's another aspect of fun that's equally important. If the teacher's having fun, there's a good chance the students are also. Students of all ages appreciate a teacher who's having a good time. Hard work and dedication are not exclusive of having fun. The harder teachers work outside of class getting ready for it, the more fun they get inside the class. When students say that a teacher is "fun" or teaches a "fun class," they don't mean that it's all fun and games in which no teaching or learning is going on. They simply mean that the teacher enjoys what he or she is doing, and that it becomes an important part of the atmosphere of the classroom.
We also have to be concerned about students’ motivation for certainly no one can learn if not motivated to attend to the subject matter. The factors affecting students’ motivation include both elements specific to each particular student as well as elements of classroom climate. It is the latter over which the teacher has some control. The teacher can accomplish that using one tool: teacher enthusiasm.
we should make our subject interesting by using latest techinques like multimedia, project presentation, group discussion and should apply various methadology to create interest of students and to avoid monotonous environment.
Also invovle our students in group discussion and class partcipation so each and every students should be valued.
1) First thing is that teaching is a art not a science. One should be artistic while teaching.
2) Involve all your student in the process of teaching. This brings quick learning.
3) Lead them so that they give answers on their own.
4) Bring the idea of group discussion in class.
5) Allow students to give debate or extempore speech on the lesson you are teaching.
6) Give practical examples.
7) Draw attention of students by telling them joke or a story.
8) Prepare worksheets and workbooks, as they make learning easy.
