In primary loop controlled chain fission reaction takes place under high pressure which released a huge amount of heat energy, this heat energy is then exchanged with the secondary loop through coolant. A steam generator then produce a high quality steam to run turbine which is coupled with the electric generator shaft. Thus electrical energy is produced which is supplied to the grid through transmission lines.

As according to E=mc^2 the energy is released in a nuclear reactor, which is taken by light or heavy molecules of water or any other coolant through which a steam turbine  runs which generate electricity for the grid.

because of the reaction of molten uranium atom in the nuclear reactor that produces nuclear energy.

Nuclear power is the use of nuclear reactions that release nuclear energy to generate heat, which is then used in steam turbines to produce electricity in a nuclear power plant.

As a result of fission process in nuclear reactor, heat energy generatted is used to heat the light water side which inturns converted into high pressure steam. Like anyother thermal plant steam is used to run turbines/ generators to produce electricity.

Electricity production is done from the hot water (generaly in form of vapour) generated by the issue of nuclear reactions temperature, steam that drives turbines which produce electricity rotation.

Although inefficient because much of the energy is dissipated as heat and lost on the internal network of the reactor (one third to one quarter of the theoretically power released is converted into electrical power),this solution is mechanically simple enough to put implement and technically reliable.

another technique to produce energy by using  RTG (Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator) and SRG  (Stirling  Radioisotope  Generator)  in this case the energy of disintegration of a radioactive element must be transformed into electrical energy through a thermoelectric conversion device

Dear,

Smart Grid optimizes the production and consumption of electricity. In general, it is not possible, in the short term, to modify the electrical output of the nuclear power plants. In these cases, the optimization is done on the production from renewable energy or fossils.

Hello Dana,

I guess your question should be "how nuclear energy is used to supply electricity to the grid?". Nuclear energy is the energy produced from nuclear reactions which involve nucleus of an atom (they are distinct from chemical reactions that involve shells of an atoms). In a nuclear powered plant, sustainable controlled fission nuclear reactions occurred in the fuel which is basically enriched uranium. These nuclear reactions produce around MeV/reaction (compared to chemical reactions which produce around0.1 Mev/reaction) in the form of heat. The heat then transferred to coolant and convert it into steam either directly (such happened in a Boiled Water Reactor aka BWR) or indirectly (such happened in a Pressurized Water Reactor aka PWR). At this point onward, there is no different between nuclear powered plants and conventional plants, as the steam used to turn the steam turbines which are connected to electricity generator to produce electricity.

Hope this helps!
