we can turn on ip routing by going into cli and select that port type "no switchport" then we can assign that port an IP and can be used as layer 3 port ....

Most common usage is to have IP routing on it.

You can also manually allocate Switch Database Management Templates (SDM) that you want to increase resources of your L3 Switches.

IP base have routing, ACL, QOS

Well how to configure would take the who CCNP Switch subject to explain but in short it depends on how you want to use the switch as. Like you can use it as a layer 2 switch and similarly you can use it as layer 3. For layer three you can create SVI and routed ports and use a lot of L3 features like VTP3, Pvt VLANs, L3 ether channels and HSRP etc.

enables MLSP.

Selects a router interface

Selects the router interface to be Layer3 switched and then adds that interface to the same VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) domain as the switch. This interface is referred to as the MLS interface. This command is required only if the Catalyst switch is in a VTP domain.

Assigns a VLAN ID to the MLS interface. MLS requires that each interface has a VLAN ID.

Enables each MLS interface.

Selects one MLS interface as a management interface. MLSP packets are sent and received through this interface. This can be any MLS interface connected to the switch.
