Thanks Peter for response. Actually I  wanted to know while forwarding our interest  to  a client should we be professional first or human. Ofcourse only human can be professional. It seems we are shedding away human values and adopting to too much artificiality nowadays.

Your question is an intriguing one.  Should I presume from your wording that you suspect it is possible to be either professional or human, but not both at the same time?

Maybe a way to think about this:  Professionalism is a very human quality!  When you are being "professional," you are engaging with your attention, your resources and skills, your care, your intention of helping in a work situation.  I'd call that being very human.

If you hold the belief that professionalism and the human quality are in conflict, I'd suggest you ask yourself:  "Are you being authentic?"  That is, are you trying to present the rigid facade of a true professional, while suppressing qualities of concern, interest, care, humor, etc. that might be interpreted as human?  If so, that is not authentic.  That is called "posturing," and it's the opposite of authentic.

Give some thought to this.  You're welcome to contact me.
