Resident Engineer or RE is the one who administers the contract agreed between the developer/client and a contractor. He is the Client's authorized representative on the project site. He oversees the whole project in terms of time, cost and quality. 

 

site engineer offers advice in the planning, co-ordination and supervision of technical aspects of construction projects. A site engineer's role is vital to a construction project: they have a number of responsibilities including solving technical issues, providing advice, management and preparing reports.

A site engineer is an engineer who has1 to years experince and his function is to ensure completion of specific tasks on site and as instructed by his/her superiors.

Part of his scope is to resolve technical issues related to the task at hand and manage both skilled and unskilled labors

Resident engineer is usually+ years experince can act as the deputy project manager and incharge of managing the overall technical aspects of the projects, usually manages all section engineers and/or  project engineers
