A well written experience certificate, covering a broad range of activities and several outstanding achievements is certainly a very good document. The Experience certificate is normally written by the Supervisor or Chief of the Organization.
The PMP certification is based on your (1) Academic qualification, (2) breadth and depth of experience (3) current experience in the industry and finally supported by the rigorous (4) PMP examination. PMP indicates a significant addition in knowledge base and so, candidates with PMP certification will have an extra weight in CV screening process.
Now, recruitment process is based on written test or interview or both and reference checking. So, the recruiting organization will decide how they would proceed in a particular case.
