Sedimentary rocks are rocks derived from pre-existing rocks such igneous rocks or metamorphic rocks.They are produced when the afore-mentioned pre-existing rocks are eroded into tiny bits or particles(by agents of erosion such as water, air or aeolian) called sediments, and these sediments are either transported to new locations or buried in-situ(at the same location).
