thank you
the easy point transfere any work take more time to short time by creating new program for estimation and design ............etc
so for production
in the past to do any planing or supervision you need to make documentation and long time
you may be forget some activity
but now you have excel , premvera and many programs
The ease of access to information and markets and the share of knowledge at a very fast paced environment is the Enabler not just in re-engineering but in almost all aspects of life now a days.
agree with answer given by mr. Rami Abbas
I agree with the answer given by Rami Abbas Sales Manager.
Set of tools, processes, and methodologies (such as coding/programming, data communications, data conversion, storage and retrieval, systems analysis and design, systems control) and associated equipment employed to collect, process, and present information. In broad terms, IT also includes office automation, multimedia, and telecommunications.
business process reengineering (BPR)Thorough rethinking of all business processes, job definitions, management systems, organizational structure, work flow, and underlying assumptions and beliefs. BPR's main objective is to break away from old ways of working, and effect radical (not incremental) redesign of processes to achieve dramatic improvements in critical areas (such as cost, quality, service, and response time) through the in-depth use of information technology. Also called business process redesign.
Thanks for invitation,
I believe IT becomes an infrastructure for many industries,
and it could be one of the enablers.
In any organization worldwide IT is the biggest enabler and driver of Business Process Re-engineering (BPR). BPR aims at enhancing customer service by improving productivity, eliminating waste and reducing the cost. The driver for BPR is to realize dramatic improvements by fundamentally rethinking how an organization work should be done instead of mere process improvement that focus on functional or incremental improvement. Reengineering involves “radical improvements” and not only incremental changes. In this sense, reengineering without an IT support is nearly impossible. The evolution of IT provides multiple options for process execution that were not possible erstwhile, which opened the possibility of reengineering in first phase. There is a relationship between BPR and information technology (IT). IT is considered as a key implementation of BPR. He says the use of IT is to challenge the assumptions inherent in the work processes that have existed since before the advent of modern computer and communications technology. Heargues that at the heart of reengineering is the idea of discontinuous thinking. Discontinuous thinking is a way to recognize and break away from the outdated rules and fundamental assumptions that underlie operations.
Information Technology is a wide field that provides many tools and techniques in facilitating the usage many professions and processes. Engineering is one of them where computer software is really effective in this regards, such Auto-Cad and digital Arts !
Thank You
Yes, it's more efficient and fact based.
As per the experts, it has been likewise for quite some time now
ROLE OF IT IN REENGINEERING Business process reengineering (reengineering) is a pervasive but challenging tool fortransforming organizations for radical improvement in all aspects of its performance.Information technology (IT) plays an important role by either enabling or constraining successfulimplementation of Reengineering. The role of IT in reengineering is not automating the businessprocess. Companies that think of IT as the tool for automating its business process cannotreengineer. IT can be an enabler for reengineering by enabling the organization to reengineer. ITallows the organization to do business process more efficiently. IT can also become an inhibitorof reengineering if the organizations IT Infrastructure is inadequate or inflexible. ITinfrastructure capability includes both the technical and managerial expertise required to providereliable physical services and extensive electronic connectivity within and outside the firm. Information technology (IT) has historically played an important role in the reengineeringconcept. It is considered by some as a major enabler for new forms of working and collaboratingwithin an organization and across organizational borders Early BPR literature identified several so called disruptive technologies that weresupposed to challenge traditional wisdom about how work should be performed. • Shared databases, making information available at many places • Expert systems, allowing generalists to perform specialist tasks • Telecommunication networks, allowing organizations to be centralized and decentralized at the same time • Decision-support tools, allowing decision-making to be a part of everybodys job • Wireless data communication and portable computers, allowing field personnel to work office independent • Interactive videodisk, to get in immediate contact with potential buyers • Automatic identification and tracking, allowing things to tell where they are, instead of requiring to be found • High performance computing, allowing on-the-fly planning and revisioning
