I prefer, if there is a vacancy, to apply online to the post; or if it is an ad, you follow the method pointed in the ad for applying.
In case you are trying to submit your CV to be in the organisation data base for any future vacancy, I prefer also to apply online to keep your application on the organisation portal and not to be missed.
We are now in virtual environment, try to use it and make benefit of it.

Online applications via email or on websites appear to be the way forward for Recruitments - keeping in mind the mass applications we receive for each position.
On an average, we receive anywhere between 150-500 applications per vacancy.
For certain niche requirements, even 20 applications would be a big number which is when resumes could be handed over.
However email or online applications are feasible and convenient.
In either cases, always call the Hr team to confirm that they have received your resume.
It reflects your interest in the role.

In today's world, Time is money! Walk-in applications or even applications by email prove to be extremely time-consuming.
Both Ms.
Samar Abu Shaban & Mr.
Amal Manshora have pointed out important tips.
Any recruiter easily receives an average of 150-500 applications/day.
Going through every CV is neither possible nor feasible.
At the same time, it is important to see what the employer prefers.
Have they requested/ invited applicants via email? Do they encourage walk-in applicants? Go with the requirements of the employer.
In my opinion, the best way forward is to apply via an online job portal where the recruiter/ employer is able to screen CV's effectively using filters.
The job seeker should make it a point to carefully review the job vacancy before applying to the vacancy.
Apply to jobs that are relevant to your experience and qualifications.
