I do not think there is any organization without a purpose, moreover organizations are established for achieving goals with vision. Orgaizational goals may be for profit, social service, employment opprtunities or any other goals.
To merely exist one does not need all of the above i would say
Any company should have a clear mission statement to successfully continue ... It is very important to know what you should do and how ... It is kind of successful planning and strategy !
