What is the Investment opportunity cost? Please give an example to elaborate your answer.

If you are going to investment in a project but you don't have enough further resources to avail that project but if you take resources from the running project from which company is already earning that earnings would be the opportunity cost if company take decision to shutdown the running project  and take resources from it to invest in another project.
