As a team leader how can we improve our team performance if they are not preforming well?

In the first place we should construct precise metrics to evaluate performance. These metrics help to define the area, causes, volume, and who is reponsible of the problem. After making sure that all are done as per rules and the drop in performance was not intensional, we go a step further. We make the team members concentrate in the solution to be set not the problem that happend. Using the problem as a challenge to substite the loss and not to permit similar situation to occure will help. Suitable punishment/ rewards policies can be applied. Building capacity through training, teaching, leason- learned culture and mentoring is a good tool. Re- allocation of team members may help sometimes. Making team members love their jobs is a great push to performance. Considering the team members opinions and feed backs may inspire useful actions. Of cousre harmony between team members need not be mentioned

Improve team performance ?

1 sit with the team and show the resul and let them understand their team and individual contribution

2 improve the team corporation by sharing ideas , enhange exchange of information, solve long during issues in the process chain of actions

3 check if delegation of authority can help and speed up desicion making in the team

4 encourange a positive work attitude instead of blame and shame

5 show leadership and set clear targets, deadlines, rebalance the workload within the team, encourage the experts to share expertise and encourage the juniors to do a better job by improving their own skills

6 make a training plan

7 have a coffee and improve the work atmosphere by walking around, show interest instead of being indicate as manager or coordinator. 

8 share results and small improvements daily
