Current Social Media platforms meaning facebook, twitter, pinterest etc.
I believe they all lack the ability and authenticity touch of bringing people together on a "real" platform.
You can interact with as many people as you wish, online. But when it comes to getting them all together to meet them and to actually spend time with them, the flaw becomes shamefully visible.
example: a person can have 2000 followers and 3000 friends. announce the death of the same person, and see how many turn up to attend the funeral. My guess is 10% (locally available) hardly.
So, if the final time of a person on earth cannot move all (available/ in location) network to attend to him in person, then we need to create a more engaging platform. A platform that can bring people and families together. Not one or two coincidental cases, but most of the users.
Thats my two cent.
Best.
They lack consistency for starters, but that's not the fault of the platforms. There seems to be a trends not to get excited about 'new' apps and services faster than a decade ago courtesy of consumerism.
Additionally, not many people truly explore the features of each platform since they're so focuses on how to make money. Key features like newer ways of consumer engagement and retention tools are often ignored.
