it does not just depend on Hardware itself. It mostly Depends on other peoples preference of channel in every region. some people prefer 5Ghz upper(4.9-5.2) band and some prefer lower band(5.8-6.2). Just need to apply some survey tools in the area to determine least used Frequency channels.
in my Experience Motorolla(Combiant) and InfiNet are best performers in metropolitan areas.
I agree and disagree at the same time. Agree on doing spectral scan - analyses to find the best and least used frequency but don't agree on the hardware playing an important part. The hardware plays the most important part on the network engineer choosing the best frequency since if the hardware does not show enough information, choosing the right frequency would be a very difficult task, like looking for a need in the haystack.
I work with several suppliers: Ubiquiti, Mikrotik, Alvarion and Airmux and I can tell you that some of these supplier's spectral scan gives little information and you keep trying frequencies thinking that they will work and they don't and some others (will not say their name here publicly) give lots of data that you switch frequencies and they will most likely work.
By the way 4.9 Ghz band is preserved here in Brazil and can't be used legaly without a license.
Thank you for your input.
