As a project manager, how should you be proactive?

• Identifying all the stakeholders early on in the project
• Identifying all the risks and designing their risk response plans even before the project begins
• Proactively requesting status updates and monitoring critical tasks
• Proactively visualize critical paths and any hurdles that might need to be overcome
• Have a Plan A and also a Plan B just in case Plan A fails

• Keep the interest of stakeholders alive
• Continuously look for conflict of interests and find solutions before they surface
• Project manager proactively thinks through how the project should be planned, how the work of executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing should be carried out on the project and how stakeholders should meet their responsibilities
• Proactively identify the variances and take measures to keep the project on track.
• Proactively try to eliminate the need for changes
• Vehemently guard against scope creep
• Identify risks and opportunities and deal with them

Project manager should idetify risks and perform risk analysis before execution to proper address the issue when response required to issues.

Since we have planning in planning process we should plan everything in advance and it helps PMs to be proactive,.. as the experts mentioned it could be in form of risk management, stakeholder management, time  or cost management,...
