First, Who told you that I want to leave my work? Your supposition that I want to leave my work is not correct. Simply, I am looking for a better opportunity.

Few answers which may help to face such questions are,

1) I want to have a diversified exposure in my engineering field, hence i want to leave my current ) organization

2) I have few long term and short term goals in my career and to achieve that i need exposure to various functions of the industry. Hence it is imperative for me to change the organization to have exposure, so that in the next 3 years i will be a functional head and next 5 years as a department head.

3) Desire to take on more responsibility and grow in a career.

Don't Be Negative About Your Current Job or Employer

According to several resources, the number one reason most people voluntarily leave one position for another is because of a bad boss or supervisor. There may be a combination of reasons as to why you want to leave this job, but most all of them will likely tie back to poor management or a bad supervisor.

My suggestion is while answering this question, don't ever let negative remarks about your current / previous organizations.

Thanks,

Many answers can be written down here , as :

  • I need to expand my experience in other filed or company.
  • I could not find myself in this company.
  • I could not find appreciation against my efforts.
  • I need to make some changes on my experience.
  • I can not do anymore.

Leaving a company have numerous reasons depending on the need on the employee.

It could be the location of work from home, the need of the family/relative, better salary and company benefits, career move for better opportunity, and etc.

On behalf of those reasons, it was still the persons choice and decision, but most importantly, once should always put positive thoughts with regards to his/her previous experience.

This question can make the most seasoned interviewee squirm a little because of the first word; why. A question starting with "why" immediately places you on the defensive

If there is anything that is dissatisfying about your current position, this is where you might unwittingly share that information and unintentionally emit a negative vibe -- a very bad impression to make

When answering this question, it’s easy to think about all of the things you dislike about your current job, but don't go there

stay positive in your response. Start by responding with “What I really like about this job and company that is different from my current one is…”

Take the opportunity to share what you’ve learned about the potential new company (demonstrating your interest in the opportunity). Talk about the environment and culture of this company, and how you feel it’s a strong match with your strengths and experience.

Demonstrating your buy-in to the company’s brand and culture is a good way to sell yourself as a match
