False. As a customer service rep it is so frustrating when you get these types of issues where you get the brunt of the customer's frustration, anger and dissatisfaction towards the person or the company. But to say such statements as " just to try to get a sale" while working in the same company with said sales rep would give the customer the impression that one of the employees of the company has no integrity and that somehow equates to the company having no integrity as well.
As customer service, we have to remind ourselves that we don't dwell on or fuel our customer's frustration. We need to convince them to move forward by presenting options that would correct the issue.
Never undermine the efforts of a sales rep before a customer since it always has a negative impact,Sales Rep is face of the organization a blemish on his /her face will mean blemish on company's face.So empathize with the customer in an intelligent way so as to soft paddle the issue.
in this case you say that your sales rep. is a liar and this situation will spoil your reputation .
You should be honest with your customer and he have the right to accept the product or not .
