As oxygen depletes, aerobic processes suffer that can lead to excessive nutrients such as Nitrogen and Phosphorus causing harmful algal blooms. There is also intensive anaerobic bacterial growth, causing increased cases of E. coli outbreaks and lead to dangerous conditions for human health.
