Which one is more popular in today's marketing world to connect with customers: 1. Sales 2. Advertising?

Software As A Service (SAAS) is recent marketing trend and it is slowly becoming the critical factor in Marketing.

Eventhough SAAS with all its features are lining to conquer the marketing campaigns, in present scenario Advertising is popular than SAAS with large segment of people.

I don't know what "Saas" stands for. I'll go for online targeted advertising for now. 

I believe that  advertising is the big influencer which affect marketing to a greeter extent rather than sales. I picked advertising option because  the world has shifted to social media, consumers look at fellow consumers to inform their purchasing decisions. Instead of looking at companies, as they did in the past, they now look at each other and at their favorite personalities, who are consolidating massive followings on Youtube, Instagram, Snapchat Pinterest, and other platforms.For the visionary marketer, the rise of the social media influencer creates a world of possibilities. It opens up a new channel for brands to connect with consumers more directly, more organically, and at scale. By creating branded content with social media influencers, brands can amplify their message while seducing their target audience.

Advertising is the backbone of sales, so I strongly recommend sticking with advertising to get connected with your customers. Also, don't underestimate the power of social media.
