An Administrator works in an organization like our Brain in our body. Whether its a large organization or a smaller one, the only post which should be involved in every department is "Administrator". In some organization they've limited the role of Administrator and keep them only for Masonry work, Security Measures, Managing Support Staff and Looking after the housekeeping issues, but in my eyes many other things should be involved under this title.
Let's come to the main point of the question. Quality administration is the key of success in every field. An administrator can directly or indirectly play a vital role in following areas of an organization;
1. Implementation of best possible tools and strategies to increase employees' punctuality. This operation needs closed and integrated efforts of Administration and Human Resource departments.
2. Administrators can ensure a healthy and hurdle free environment where employees could only think about their targets and assigned work without getting involved in any irrelevant work or organizational politics.
3. Administrators can play a very important role in conflict management. Usually it has been noticed that conflicts could cause delay in achieving targets and reduce synergy between employees. Synergy is the most important factor of developing best team work oriented environment, which is a proven reason of success in today's business era.
4. Administrators could closely monitor employees needs and problems and could take this to senior management. This would not only increase good relationship between employees and management but also provide a sense of ownership in workers.
5. Administrators can also propose and later on arrange such programs which can educate employees to become more productive and useful. These programs could include Vision Exercises, Training on different I.T. or Professional courses, Learn the Departments programs etc. Administrators could perform this task alone or with the help of Training departments (where available).
There are hundreds of more things which can add "PLUS" in any organization through administrators and it needs lot more writing :) even a whole book can be written on this, but in my opinion the above points are enough at this stage.
REMEMBER! Ownership, Synergy, Win-Win approach and Education are the backbone of successful organization. Administrator can play a vital role in increasing all this in a professional setup.

Actually, in my point of view administration job is complicated as it vary based on the organisational and industry need. Every administrator has different role and require different skills and this is the biggest chanllenge of the role. That is why, administrators specifically should enjoy high fuctional flexibility and excellent attitude.
To raise the office operational standards, these administrators need to understand that the aim of their role is to effectively link all the organisational departments together and effectively dilever positive communication among all levels.

1. Organizing or Good organizational skill
2. Confident and professional manner
3. Excellent memory
4. Work under pressure

1- Involve making sure that the office always has the resources needed to remain productive
2- Coordinate the repairs on any office equipment that is malfunctioning

4- Administrators also function as troubleshooters, providing support and assistance to employees when unusual situations arise during the completion of an assigned task

Generally speaking, Administrators best role to contribute for the company's success is to make sure that everything in the office is in best coordination (within the head office and outside operation). In order to keep a smooth operation and effective personnel, he must have the proper know how to resolve every department needs and deliver the same in the most reasonable way which the company may profit.
