Whether you are a Sales Rep or a Customer Service Officer, an Entrepreneur or an Educationist, or any other professional, you make efforts to achieve your specific goals. You consume a lot of time on a potential Customer/Client with bright hopes in mind…. Sometimes you achieve your goal with very little effort, while at other times; all your untiring efforts go in vain. It means along with your EFFORT, there is another force named 'LUCK and/or FATE' which is working parallel to your efforts; either to dash all your hopes to the ground, or make your day in the long run…. So, my question is, Effort or Luck, which plays a vital role in a man’s success both personally and professionally?
Hi Buddies! Bundle of thanks for putting forth your Lovely viewpoints regarding the topic at hand i.e., Effort or Luck, which of the two plays a pivotal role in a man’s success?
Dear Colleagues, imagine, you are on the verge of attending an important Conference in 'NY' for which you've waited/prepared for full six moths; your flight takes off a day earlier from London,,, you are damn sure to not only attend the Conference in time but, before that, have some fun in NY also,,,,,,, but what happens?? Your flight is caught by hailstorm; your aircraft has to take an emergency landing at the nearest available airport. Due to the rough weather, all flights are cancelled till the situation is under control....... Now My Dear Colleagues, after two days, you 'willy-nilly' leave back for London in place of NY because you couldn't attend the Conference IN SPITE OF ALL YOUR BEST EFFORTS.... So, here we see the role of LUCK WHICH IS BEYOND MAN’S CONTROL……
To Me, BOTH EFFORT & LUCK COMBINEDLY PLAY A PIVOTAL ROLE IN A MAN’S SUCCESS, BUT WITHOUT LUCK, NO EFFORT IS FRUITFUL. I would like to quote a very interesting poem to elucidate my viewpoint:
"LUCKY"
by Graeme King
My lucky numbers let me down again,
I needed number seven, but it came out number ten,
it happens every week, it’s no surprise,
for fifty years I’ve played the game and never won a prize.
My wife confessed she wanted a divorce,
she’d met another man who owned a mansion and a horse,
I watched her drive away without a sound,
it’s déjà vu for me, this was my seventh time around.
My seven children send me emails now,
I’d answer them politely, but I can’t remember how,
it seems to me it’s all a little game,
comparing all their messages reveals they’re all the same.
My car broke down beside the interstate,
it’s running now on seven cylinders, instead of eight,
I’m passed by all the buses and the trucks,
the quote for the repairs came out at seven thousand bucks.
The cat had seven kittens late last week,
I put them in a bag and went to throw them in the creek,
a council ranger stopped me just in time, and now I’m doing seven years for vicious feline crime.
( I wish 'GOOD LUCK' to all my Bayt Colleagues. )
Thanks
In my opinion, if there is no LUCK, any efforts mean nothing, that is not mean enough effort does not end by good results, but In this life I / we find people hitting great results without any single effort..... so it is LUCK :) ;)
Good Luck for all
Thanks for invitation dear Farhana
I agree with Mr Omar Saad
Sometimes luck plays a role in the success of the individual, but the individual must not rely on luck, he must take the reasons to succeed in his life.
Which plays a pivotal role in the success of the individual :
I agree with Mr Omar and Mr Yahia answer. Thanks for the invitation.
great answers are there,.. agree with experts..
As usual a good question madam.
Effort is the primary and luck is inadditional free layer upon your effort. cause at times even after lots of effort also...can't be succeed. My 2 cents. Thanks.
first of all i don’t believe in luck, i believe in hard working and effort as our lord said in Quran that he will never let someone effort who worked so hard go away, we will be rewarded from Allah and from our companies also.
Creativity does not come from a vacuum, but of great effort and work consistently and not luck or coincidence ..Things have materialized to us without effort, and Nhsabha of luck, luck and sometimes we work hard but did not get the desired results, and we say this may be a bad palaces of us.I started to work for many years and made a lot of achievements and praise and a well-earned for this work,The incident all of me luck, and I'm my earnings to natural disasters was not able to type things issues can not be predicted, this is bad decisions.Life and a combination of this and that and we have to work hard and take the reasons not lulled into bad luck or lazing
I think both effort and luck is important for success in any thing and at any level, however, it will be stupidity to depend on luck only as most of the success depends on effort and careful planning. One may achieve success in a profession due to his effort and if he has a luck of having good management, good environment to work, successful business concern or it already has a very good continuity due to the effort of others etc. No doubt effort plays very important role to success in personal level as there is no short cut to success. However, some are lucky of inheriting good wealth and property and supporting parents. Same way one may be lucky or unlucky in getting a good and understanding spouse, otherwise all his or her effort will be in vain.
Thank you Miss Farhana for your invitation and again nice question.
My opinion will be different for this question. When a person do efforts with sincerity and with firm believe. He gets his goal quickly, But the neccessary thing is what is written in his fat he will get wather he do little effort or unlimited efforts.
On the other hand a person do untiring efforts but do not get his goal. It means something else written in his fate.
There is a little misconception in FATE and LUCK. FATE means life period, food, children and marriage fixed by Allah before your birth. LUCK consist of your sincere efforts with firm believe to achieve the goal in your life. It can be change with your good deeds and prayers.
There is a beautiful story on this question but it is very long to write here. But after In Sha Allah
