Exchange 2003 versions has a hard-coded limit of 16GB, finally this has changed with Exchange 2003 SP2; the default limit per database is now 18GB but can be set as high as to 75GB!
If its exchange 2003 without service pack per database we can store 16 GB. When you upgraded Service pack-1 for exchange 2003 it can be extended up to 75 GB per store
