What is more important for an organization while reviewing CV for a job? Is it the experience and profile or the fresh mind with a degree?

I am of the opinion that nothing can replace experience gained by working on live projects. It is the experience that provides confidence to the candidate in dealing with various complex situations, which cannot be acquried only with degree. Of course degree is important to acquire basic knowledge and grasp of the basic fundamentals.
