Quality of MIS can be improved by improving following factors :-1). Time :- It should be made available quickly. Delays make it less  actionable.

2). Accuracy :- MIS should contain highly accurate data. Enabling  Management to take action.

3). Format Agreement :- MIS Format should be Agreed between Users i.e. Management / Owners & Person preparing MIS. Extra details  howsoever useful  creats confusion for users.

4). Performance Assessment :- MIS should help in assessment of performance, through Ratios, P.Y. No., Budget No. or other relevant comparative numbers.

5). Graphs & Chart :- Intellectual use  of  Graphs highlights important info & enhances MIS quality.

6). Presentation :- MIS should be neatly formatted & Presented  to  help  user  to  quickly  get  info & knowledge.

7). Short & Crisp :- MIS  should  not  be  very  long & boring to read.

8). Highlight :- MIS may contain Highlighted areas containg important matters.

Ensure that you extract the maximum possible data from any transaction which may further need to be reported or presented. This will help you present in various formats thus giving you quality reports. At times even an information which is limited in its capacity can make a report look good by just being there. With experience you will know what to keep and what to discard, but its never too late to start doing it right.
