What is provisional sum?

A provisional sum as described in the Domestic Building Contract Act is an estimate of the cost of carrying out particular work. The estimate includes the cost of supplying any materials needed for the work. An estimate is required if, after making all reasonable enquiries, the builder cannot give a definite amount for the item at the time the contract is entered into.

Probably 1: The provisional sum relates to the construction of the structure with no existing design drawings, say for example building A, roads, and parking, etc.

Solution: you can have a WBS showing this structures at the same time allow for one line activity describing the structure. This is important because you have to capture the duration of its provisional sum relating to the construction of each structure to give a clear picture of what the construction duration might be.
