Reading books does not mean that an intelligent reader might be cultured and educated does not mean that an intelligent person may find it does not read books but intelligent because the intelligence comes from how to deal in his daily life is also a gift from Hbah God Almighty

No matter how many standardized tests exist, no one can accurately measure intelligence. However, reading books can help you become knowledgeable in certain areas depending on the subject matter. Reading also gives you and advantage in life because it broadens your horizon and opens your mind to analyzing different views from diverse backgrounds. By becoming an avid reader, you will have a well rounded education.

You can also live many lives through the characters. Reading is an adventure; you never know where you will go, but you can be sure that it will take you far.

That may not always be the case. As we all know there are two kinds of "Smart", there is ''street smart'' and there is ''Book smart''. People who think on their feet and who make decisions based on their experiences are generally termed street smart. Whereas individuals who accumulate knowledge from other peoples experiences and make effective decisions from what they've learned are termed as a book smart person.

If we go far as to compare the two, no one is outright better than the other. It is advisable to be a bit of both rather that being the best at one.

Depending on the book and its reading level. A non-fiction, historical account will make one smarter about a given topic. Fiction however is as good as its writer; complex writing like the works of Tom Clancy; well-researched action/military/political fiction will also have a good effect on the reader because its art imitating life so most parts would be relevant and applicable to real life.Something like Twilight or Harry Potter won't make one smart due to its lower reading level and a light, unchallenging tone designed for entertainment.

My answer is No!!!

The people who read books they might be smarter but this may not be possible when compare to one who don't read they might be smarter.

Nowadays the rate of reading from book is gradually decreasing and also taking books along with them everywhere, maybe closely a day will come, like all the children just bring there laptops and Tablets to school.
