A fuse is a short lenth wire designed to melt and seperate in the event of excessive current.it help to protect the electrical devices and circuit from over curent by short circuit,over loading,mismatched loads etc.Fuses can be used as alternatives to circuit breakers.

it is used to halt the electric circuit whenever there's a current bigger than the nominal current of the device to prevent damage of the component.
