Communication is a very interesting Art.  One is required to communicate on daily basis and those who are able to master the art of communication more often than not succeed as they are able to set forth their ideas with ease.

The basic principle of individual and group communication is the same.

Communicating effectively requires a few steps :

1. Subject matter knowledge - you should have enough knowledge about the topic at hand and should be in a position to discuss it

2. Clarity of thought- should be clear on your ideas and message. At the same time be able to listen and respond according to the circumstances.

3. Confidence - Believe in self, believe in the idea in your head.

4. Awareness of the audience.

5. Command over the chosen language.

These are basics of effective communication.

There is however, a slight difference in the way communication happens in a group or when done individually.

While speaking in a group one needs to further keep the following points in mind:

1. The time limit as the number of participants may be more.

2. short crisp points so people can absorb what is being said and catch the attention of the audience, then elaborating as and when required.

3. Avoiding monologue and allowing others to participate. Not making communication a mere address.

4. Not cutting across when others are speaking.

5. Not engaging in a argument.

6. Not raising the voice and controlling aggression.

Ensuring the above points could lead the effective communication with ease.
