Diverse team can be in language, calture, openun, or any defrance things inside team.
Most of us work with people with different linguistic , cultural and religious back ground. My beliefs are my own. Other people will respect them only when I am honest and sensible to others feelings. I get respect only when I respect others . And fear is not respect. If I respect someone I would respect his always. But if I fear some one it would be gone when the person goes out of sight. Fear can be invoked in a person easily by threats. But respect has to be earned. If I am a manger my main object would be to gain the trust and respect of the team. Would handle tenured and elderly employees very carefully. Will seek their advice in matters relating to target . Ask questions like what were the reasons for the target not being met. It is normally easy to motivate a young person who has just joined with incentives. But a tenured or elderly employee would ask for something more. Like avenues of promotion etc. There would be people thinking they are more fitted for the position you are in than you are. One can only be honest but diplomatic with them. Speak to them with respect but get the work done. A best manager always gets his work done with a smiling face. I should not envy any of my high performers. Should understand that if people under me get promoted I also come in the lime light.
