QS is the person responsible for figuring out just what a construction project is going to cost. They have other roles too, especially making sure that construction costs and production are managed as efficiently as possible.

QS refers to quantity surveying . In a project, a quantity surveyor works out and arrives with the quantities of each  work items from the scope of work/ construction drawings. He is not limited to this work. He holds several other responsibilities too.QC refers to quality control. There are two works majorly performed by them. One is inspecting and ensuring the qualities of raw materials and the other is inspecting and ensuring the qualities of workmanship such as reinforcement checking of structural elements like slabs, columns, etc... In infrastructure projects , there will be method statements in addition to construction reference drawings. Method statement is a written procedure of an activity which describes - action responsibility by whom, equipments to be deployed, predecessor works, step by step procedures, quality inspection plan, safety plan. QS Engineer or Quantity Surveyor Engineer is the one who is responsible for project estimation, project cost analysis, and other works pertaining to financial aspect of the projects. While QC or Qualtity Control Engineer is the one who is responsible for directing site workers to ensure that the finish product or completed engineering projects met the standard requirements accepted by engineering organization worldwide.
