I am not familar with Arab custom to other world but every countries have their own cultural and custom to repest . I will respect what arab country has to preserve thier cultural to other world.
sincerely i have not lived in Arab country before and from the look of things because i am from third world country too but arab are not known to be consistent with their dealings and also their culture and believe makes it barely impossible to access their products here.
Being a woman, I believe in the uplifting of all women in the entire world. Think of equality, respect and dignity. However, I am not from the Arab world and may not be familiar with the customs or norms that puts them in the same category with the developing nations that need more education and broardening of their horizon - which, of course, is on a rapid rise due to technological innovations - cell phones, internet, and TV to name a few. We are moving towards a global society. People and nations will have to change. I would not use the term - third world countries.
Dear Sarah,
I am myself part of that third world countries, but I have studied in the UK and I could tell that most educated people consider the difficulties in communication and the cultural differences we are facing in the globalised world. I have deeper understanding of the Arabic culture as well and I really appreciate the positive sides of it. I think that the West has learned a lot from the Middle East and Far East cultures. It is the vice versa process as well. Dirty trick are everywhere and declared respect for women does not necessarily mean more equality in terms of job roles and financial rewards. However, openness and straightforwardness are valued and women are continuously working on the improvement of their status. There have been big changes in the last 50-60 years. This period of time is short from a historical point of view. I hear big changes are on the way in the Arabic world as well. I am a specialist in business and work psychology and will be happy to discuss further topics related to cultural differences and adaptation.
Best regards
Sophia
