Well to be a great leader you have to be very understanding,and show your team that you are there to help not to judge
So, i advise you to take him for lunch and try to talk about his problems at work,or his private life, you have to earn his trust and when he sees that you are a great listener and you understand what he is facing , he will change and instead of bothering you he will help the team the achieve the goals
While delegating the responsibilities within team members, competitiveness factor should be kept in mind to avoid disturbance in getting work out of team member. However, proper counselling and motivation can bring the things at par.
