I think the most important thing is to keep buiding new contents on regular basis, like a daily update and if you want to increase traffic you can create two contents in the day, so that people always find something new everytime they visit your blog, and to keep your social media pages active is important as well, you have to keep publishing your posts many times in the day to make sure it reaches more and more of people.
Let me make bullet points of the process in order of their importance
And if you do it regularly, you wouldn't have to worry about your regular steady views :)
This is what I would do.
SEO:
1) You have to be smart on the metatags/keywords you put in the description/excerpt of your individual blog posts. That comes with experience and the research you to on articles posted by your competing bloggers.
2) I have a keyword density plugin on my Wordpress blog. I would use that to revise the description of the blog and posts every2-3 months to get a high ranking to meet the changing demands of the Google algorithms.
Content:
To get more traffic on to your blog and reduce the bounce rate you could try the following:
1) Develop a bit.ly strategy to keep the visitors/readers either on your blog or other websites where you have your own content.
2) Make your rich: What that means is that use infographics, edit original images to suit your own personal brand. Use Youtube videos and podcasts to keep the users engaged.
3) Build your personal brand on apps like Whisper and9GAG and link it back to your blog.
Social Networks:
1) Create a Facebook brand page for your blog. It should have scheduled posts about your blog posts. Add an image with post summary to each post.
2) Your Twitter account should immediately update with tweets connecting to your blog posts. A summary of your Facebook posts.
3) Put all the images you have created using your brand on well described (SEO ready) Pinterest Pinboards.
4) Put all your curated video mashups on Vimeo, YouTube (blocked in several countries) and DailyMotion.
5) Put all your podcasts on a SEO friendly site like SoundCloud and link all content back to your Facebook first and then your blog.
6) Remember to use the same branding and same keywords across all social networks.
