How can one make himself consistent? Simply by been focused, setting sights on goals, and holding them until those goals have been realized. If you are trying to accomplish your goals and be consistent, keep following things in your mind:
Change the way you thinkIt’s not hard to change the way we think, but it does take some effort. Trying to be more consistent in general is a tedious task. Instead, find out what specific areas in your life need consistency.
It’s really hard to just force yourself through things and not always the best way to accomplish your goals. Be positive but stay realistic. Remember that no one is perfect and let yourself move forward. It’s ok to make mistakes, to be careless, and to be ignored occasionally.
You can’t have consistency without improving your willpower. So you need to build your willpower. Make your own tricks to boost it. Sometimes you need to avoid situations where you will be forced exert considerable amounts of will power in order to be consistent.
Make sure your actions match your words. Being consistent means that you don’t say one thing while actually doing something else. There is no shame in admitting things that you don’t know. Always try to avoid making claims that you can’t back up with your actions.
Be positive (always) and eliminate negative thinking. Negative thought drain you of energy and keep you from being in the present moment. It will hamper your progress. See the positive side, the potential and make an effort.
Certain individuals can really drain your vital life force very quickly in their attempt to illicit a negative reaction out of you. Surround yourself with positive people.Build your consistencyNever tempted to shoot for huge goals. Being consistent is a lot easier and more likely to succeed if you set your specific, yet simple goals. The more you plan out your goals and steps to reaching them, the more you will actually succeed. However, it is important that you choose one thing to work on, at least initially. Chasing few different goals is just going to result in failing at all of them.
It is ok to prioritize your goals, but make change slowly. Break your goal down into small chunks as it will help you prevent overwhelm and that terrible feeling that your target is so far away, you might as well give up.
Set specific boundaries. Setting a boundary means setting constraints on exactly how and when you are going to do certain things. This will keep you focused and alerted.
We are responsible for our own actions. A responsible person makes mistakes, but when he does, he takes responsibility and makes it right. Be accountable and acknowledge what happened. To be consistent you have to make sure that you recognize when you don’t come up to the standards and goals that you have set.
Maintain consistency and sustainBe patient. One of the main reasons people don’t stick with what they are doing is simply impatience. To do something every day for a significant period of time, you require a less effort so it doesn’t exhaust you. Patience is a key to consistency. You have to be patient, take your time, and focus your efforts diligently in one direction in order to produce tangible results.
You have to control your mind if you want to remain consistent. Meditation helps focus and quite your mind. Yoga is another option. Visualization and even day dreaming can aid you a lot if used properly.
Being consistent is not the same as being perfect. If you want to increase your chances of long-term success, then you need to plan for failure as well as focus on consistency.
Increase your motivation. Motivation develops an inclination for been consistent. If you don’t stay motivated, you won’t make those changes in your life that allow you to be consistent.
