"Personality"....wow.....what a personality...........what a pathetic appearance.........but who knows what a person have inside, how strong they are from inside, or how weak they are from heart. If personality means appearance then there are many weak appearance leaders who made countries, and there are so many dashing appearance leaders who brought bad name for there countries.
So in my opinion personality add a very little to the decision making of any leader, when we say leader then we have to confess that they are leaders otherwise they are just Managers.
Weak Personality indicates also the weak elements of person: weakness of opinion, weakness of decision making, hesitancy, one or all........ One may have a leadership character but lacks or misses one or more supporting elements, a matter which may not affect the person career and role in leading........
The Leader itself is strong by definition. Leading people need clear vision and decision making.
A Leader with strong personality can empower and motivate people, driving them toward the success.
Its not the personality which makes you a leader its a vision that makes a leader. Yes a leader can Physically weak structure but he must have high character instead of having outside personality.
A Leader cannot have a weak personality cause if his pesonality is weak he cant lead the team well and cant have respect of his team.
For me, We all have weakness but I don't think it’s a good idea to show it to your team a leader's actions set the pace. This behavior wins trust, loyalty, and ensures the organization's continued vitality. One of the ways to build trust is to display a good sense of character composed of beliefs, values, skills, and traits.
week personality isn't just limited to physical appearances, but how well he handles the organization, the decisions he/she makes, some time he/she has to think out of the box need to convince the people to follow, often times the decision he makes decision that are impacting on long term organizational goals but but have some shot term hurdles, he need to be some one who ask you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip, and it need a strong character to do it, some one lie psychopath.
It's absolutely a must for a leader to have a a strong personality in order to lead by example, to face and solve challenges and to take responsibility.
