Which position has a higher salary, front-end developer or back-end developer?

They are mostly the same. It depends on the project. If the project is server extensive like complex programs back-end developers usually get payed higher. However if the app is service oriented like marketing front end developer are payed better since you are trying to make your app appealing with a relatively light load.

Back-end developer is higher

Depending on answers from most people here, they believe Backend Developer got higher salary, I believe each of Front End/Back End can have same salary depend on experience and level as both considers as web developers/engineers.

 

Duties of Front End/Back End Developer is not the same in MENA area (depending on institution).

Back-end developer with great experience get a higher salary.back-end developer control logic,database and system architecture.

Backend engineers are paid more. It's a cultural bias in software development that the front-end or "gui" is what the "graphic artists" creates, while the back-end is where all the complex computer science theory needs to take place, and should never be questioned.

well its depends on the duties of yours. because sometimes front end developers have full stack jobs and they may able to do what back end usually do. Actually cross browsers issues are things only front end developers know about it. Even UX, UI and the design it self cant be implement without the the front end. sp I think frontend developers gets the higher salary.

back-end developer get a higher salary because back end developer was control the logic and database.
