Nobody wants to work for free everyday, Why would you want to escape the most important question.??

Face it and be firm on your expectations. As an HR when i ask this question i expect an answer in numbers only.

>> How much you are getting in current Job? << This question in itself seems weird for me.

Don’t say a word about what your geting. It’s YOUR salary! You can firmly, but politely, refuse to answer!!

You can't escape, but you can give a semi answer.

you can say that you want to be treated fairly, and receive the average salary for a person with your qualifications and experience.

We should face this question and should be honest what you think you deserve upon change of job or new employment. After all you are not working for free.

How to escape from salary question on an interview.

In a perfect world we’d all be working at jobs we love making lots of money and nobody would ever have to worry about negotiating salary.

Unfortunately we don’t, and too often people end up taking jobs for a pay rate they’re not happy with.

But when is the right time during your job interview to negotiate a salary? And how can you scape from it?

As a candidate you could be dealing with two  type of HR schools

1-   The old business school.

2-   The modern business school.

1-The old business school.

Usually this discussion is brought up near the end of the interview, and could be coming as an ordinary old HR school  surprised inquiry or question.

“ What is your expected salary?”

Or even can come in a direct way, “Now, you’ll start at ($$)/ hour or month, and then be eligible for a raise every year based on performance reviews.

Old School can be successful, if you’re just starting out in your chosen field and don’t have a lot of experience, or if you’re the super lucky person, also it could be a reasonable for the people who might lack confidence in their skills will find the most comfortable to deal with.

3-   The modern business school

That kind of HR schools  respect your experiences and can tell you directly by the end of interview that your package will be determined according to the company budget and to your experience.

So, whether you are dealing with the old or even the modern school there are many things the candidates should know.

·       Interviews have multi-step processes, starting with a phone interview, moving to a video interview, and coming up to a multiple in-person interviews.

·       Candidates should know that this is not a one way interview, as it should be an apple to apple interview.

·       You need to have confidence in yourself and your skills. You are the ideal candidate and that confidence needs to carry all the way through everything you do… including deciding how much you’re worth.

·        Go ahead with a healthy level of confidence. Make sure you’re in charge of the interview.

·       You should know your value in the business market …and bringing it up yourself.

So, when an interviewer ask you about your expectations for salary or even asked you to give a number, Simply tell him/her one of the two choices..

1.    “ as i offered you my profile, achievements and my experience so, it’s better to determine my salary according to your company budget”

2.    “If it turns out that I’m the candidate you hire for this position, I’m sure we’d be able to reach a mutually agreeable salary as I’m willing to be flexible. Can you give me an idea as to what the budgeted salary range is?”

Don’t say a word about what you made. It’s YOUR salary! You can firmly, but politely, refuse to answer

Nowadays this question is in the core of the vacancy appointment and you can't skip it, once you skip you will lose! When the question is about your current salary answer the truth because it is your financial value in the market and for sure you are wishing to improve it, that's why you come to the interview. And once the question is about your expectation, just know the role you will play and all the details of your job description & missions, ask the people in the same industry before you go and prepare yourself to give the best answer.
