What is the difference between CCD based Spectroscopy and PMT based Spectroscopy?

CCD and PMT are the detectors used for the measurement of emitted light energy in the Analytical instruments.

Both can give results but PMT will do better measurement in the low energy levels but saturates very quickly at some specific amount energy. 

But can be used in the Sequential and simultaneous measurement technique, it works based on design and segments.
