All qualities are important for a leader. You must have confidence on what you do, then you can direct authoritatively. Just an example of the whole lot a leader must posses.
There are two main theories about how leaders are created:,
a) Leaders are born, and
b) Leaders are made
Tradition has it that leaders are born. Modern scholars believe that leaders are made.
Typically, a leader is a person who influences other people to act in a desired manner to achieve a certain goal, for example, to complete a project, a journey or a mission.
A good leader is characterized by the following factors:
1) Leads by example
2) Recruits people from diverse cultures and/ or beliefs
3) Recruits people who are better skilled/more experienced than him/herself.
4) Selfless
5) Works to bring unity to the team
6) Reconciliator
7) Listens more than speaks
8) Thinker
9) Takes responsibility, credit and blame
10) Motivates
