By showing your company's interest in the products the supplier provides, he should be a partner in Business, in order to make him feel so:
- keep continuous communication with the supplier about your company's requirement.
- discuss with your supplier the market situation and share your point of view and concern about the products in regular basis even there is no requirement.
- ask his advice when you need to develop a new product, or develop an existing one.
always remember satisfying all suppliers is a "mission impossible", but not losing them is very much possible task.
