The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process provides a useful framework for addressing the risks of climate change in the context of specific projects. Through EIA, decision-makers can assess the potential impacts of climate change on a proposed project and the surrounding environment before the project is implemented.

Evaluating the climate risk can be based on the applicable impacts at your location.

Hello.

First question

The report must evaluate what are the main risk sources in the area (flood, deforestation/desertification, rivers overflow, rock stabilities). A good EIA give us:

- the geologic/geografic/biologic patern and

- the socioeconomic characteristics pointed the relationship between comunity and such area.

With these informations it is possible to stands out variations in time comparing with other studies.

Second question

Certain regions (as ocean-land boundery or wetlands and reefs) are prone to climate changes. So EIA must have as much information as possible to better understand the area and to give a realistic answer in terms of climate changes effects.
