The Qualified and Trained staff is key to quality production but the manpower turnover creates such situations where non qualified workers have to be adjusted. The better approach should be to give them a short course of the specific job and put them under qualified / trained staff.Every workstation must have Visual aids for Right and Wrong Operations, Safety instructions, Quality expectations and Motivational Slogans. The periodic training programs are essential to upgrade qualified / non qualified worker to desired level.
i will do training for them and work with them
First of I would try to request for trained personal as this makes a huge difference to production and efficiency. If the management were still unable to provide me with trained and skilled staff than I will have to make the new staff skilled as soon as possible.
if management not giving qualified person for technical position then as a production manager i have to convert the language & work into easily local language which they can understand easily.
so according to us they perform technically but according to them they just doing the easy jobs.
Also we have to notify the gaps to the management through ppt .
It depends, if the worker need experience but has the foundation skills to do the work so I should give him a quality of time to guide him how to work in his new role with good assessment of his progress and his willing to do his role then report what has been done to the HR, it's a matter of how he is doing his tasks
The need of the hour would be to :
1. Work on job simplification
2. Train manpower on the the job.
3. Set the target, help them achieve the target
4. Build the stamina of the worker to develop long term achievement of the targets.
I will give them training courses
periodic evaluations will be made to see whether they can go on with the job or not.
First I will see the strength and weakness of my team members because if they are in the company it means that they have some sort of ability to do the job. Then I will convert their strength into desirable outcome and train them more on their weakness to achieve the goal by sharing my personal knowledge and skills. and also give them more respect and confidence.
this is a general quistion and you need to react from three aspects as folowing:
Procedure wise:
1. conduct a quick evaluation to varefy the abelity and qualifications of each man and then rank them as per persantage.
2. try to get the high ranking people to check how they react in the field and take a report from your engineers and supervisors.
3.Construct your plan for starting a training program for the high ranking workers and the others you might exchange with the other departements with more qualified people.
4. report to the management with the full documents and requist for training.
Quality wise:
keep always these people under the section head all the time an make rewards for the fast learning and best quality and creative works.
training wise:
Make sure that the safety training should be external in order to increase the level of safety the remaining house keeping training and technical could be arranged upon stages not to affect the general productivity.
keep it up and think positive take it as a chance to build a new generation as per your orgnaization standards and available resorces
Everytime its not feasible to get trained and skilled manpower to carry out production. Here comes the role of production manager. If it would have been me.I would try to findout which section he will be put into based on his physical and mental abilities. I will motivate my skilled and experienced colleauges to norture them and polish their skills so as to create a healthy and efficient environment to work and enhance production with quality in topmost priority,
I will recommend for training's along with working according to the job requirements day by day and will Keep him in safe environment as well as Motivate on work by objectives and goals and will Let him give their opinions and ideas. will make a excellent staffs. I need willing staff to do., not a qualitied staff.
