Working in an environment where you see regular people daily. Sometimes, people are genuinely good, that they touch a part of you. When customer service becomes not a service, but an act of kindness to someone who appreciates the effort you give. Whenever you were too tired and it shows, but instead of them telling you to smile because they are a customer and they should only see good bits of you. They would tell you to relax and just do everything at your own pace, because they can wait, for time in the establishment with you, and all of other great people, are a part of everyday joy. When you thought you are just doing your job, but these people see more than that. And when instead of you giving them care, it is initiated by these people first, that giving it back is just a genuine gesture.
In some instance it will help you to create room for understanding and helpful to generate the business regularly. However, if cross the limit then it may cause of conflict of interests therefore, keep clear always in your mind that customer is customer and can not be close or personal friend otherwise both would be in any serious problem at any stage.

being friend with my customer is not a thing that I would encourage myself to do it because the end of it will be troubles. being friends should be with limit and I can take advantage of it in way that lets me understand his mentality and his way of thinking in order for me to succeed with my tasks
